On the January 2009, the Proseminar of Mainframe Database user of China――"Shanghai Proseminar in DB2 Technology in Spring" was held in the China-France Center, Tongji University (Shanghai) successfully. There were more than 80 people participating this proseminar including spokesmen from the top 5 domestic banks (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China , Agriculture  Bank  of  China ,Bank  of  China, Construction Bank of China, Communications Bank of China) and corporate representatives of Software corporation from Daofu, Baoxin, Citybank, Hi Sun, EMC etc, DB2 Database experts and representatives for Tongji and Zhejiang University. 
This proseminar invited several DB2 experts from the IBM Lab in the Silicon Valley in the United States. The outstanding software engineers Dr. Fu Yuqin and Dr.Deng Zhijia delivered the lectures in the topics of  “The most advanced technology in Commercial Mainframe Database” and “The new Functional technology of DB2 Database” respectively. Spokesmen of users of Mainframe Database and senior engineers from Data Center of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Agriculture Bank of China also delivered their reports about the usage of Mainframe Database in the daily operating of banks. On the conference, Database experts and spokesmen from local users made a passionate and mature discussion in the topic of the Community Constructing and the usage of DB2 technology. The executive vice president of School of Software Engineering in Tongji University, Dr. Liu Qin participated this conference.
